Telecommunications infrastructure is a critical factor for the success and operation of businesses in regional areas. South West Western Australia, a region with diverse geographical features and scattered population centers, faces unique challenges and opportunities in this area. The telecommunications landscape in this region significantly impacts local businesses, affecting everything from day-to-day operations to their ability to participate in and host large-scale events.

Bunbury Geographe CCI produced a report which explores these impacts, drawing insights from a recent "Lunch and Learn" session. The event, held on April 9, 2024, brought together key stakeholders in the telecommunications industry, including representatives from Telstra, Optus, the National Broadband Network (NBN), as well as local business leaders and government officials. Discussions focused on the current state of telecommunications in the region, the challenges faced by local businesses, and the solutions proposed by service providers.
