Albemarle is a global manufacturing company, constructing a lithium hydroxide processing plant at Kemerton. Kemerton trains 1 and 2 are part of the MARBL Lithium JV, a 60:40 joint venture between Albemarle and Mineral Resources Limited, which also includes the Wodgina mine in the Pilbara. Albemarle Kemerton plant is currently commissioning 2 processing trains, and by mid-2022 will be producing 50,000 tonnes per annum of lithium hydroxide.
So far, over 1600 construction and a further 300 operational roles have been recruited at Albemarle Kemerton. In addition, Albemarle have awarded local contracts and engaged a significant number of local vendors, making up a large percentage of our expenditure commitments.
As we become known in the South West, our commitment to sustainability and contributing to local communities is evident. The products manufactured at Albemarle’s Kemerton site will feed critical global industries such as energy, electronics and transportation.
