The 2024 South West Leaders Conference was a full day event dedicated to inspiring, connecting, and empowering leaders in the South West region. This year's conference featured a power-packed day of keynote speeches from industry experts. The 2024 theme, "Never Stop Learning," was all about pushing yourself to new heights and embracing continual growth.
After a welcome from Claire Anderson, the lead of our South West Leaders program and Danny Griffin GAICD, President of our Chamber, we were welcomed to country by Elder Sharon Cooke.
MC Niomi Hurley (MBusPsych) introduced the first of our speakers for the day, Alexis McDonald from HerHelp. Bunbury born and raised, we were delighted to have Lexi speaking about her journey to build her app at 17 years old, and the traits that gave her.
Dr Lloyd Evans was next to share his purpose and passion behind men’s health. He stressed the importance of prioritising health to optimise your leadership and resilience.
Kate Vivian, Assistant Commisioner from DFES, an advocate for being a kind leader who was challenged many times when working in her earlier career in the Police Force.
Our panel discussion including Jaysen de San Miguel, Kate Monaghan and Michael Pepper, moderated by Claire, covered what we can do and prepare for our next generation of leaders.
After lunch we enjoyed an intimate insight into the SW Leaders mentor/mentee program with Leanne Shaw and Belinda Jeffreys. It is clear if you sign up to be a mentee you may just end up being a mentor. And vice a versa!
