This month has seen some large milestones being completed and initiated. One of those is what we have called ‘The Halifax Project’. This project been managed by us for the past few years has now completed with 22 security camera’s being gifted to those recipients in the business precinct.
The crime in the area has decreased significantly with most operators agreeing the initiative has been a success. Funded by DPIRD and co-managed with City of Bunbury the Bunbury Geographe CCI, along with technical provider BTS we have ensured all camera’s now have access by each business owner.
Another milestone is the commencement of the Future Skill Series that will uncover (we feel) some important information on behalf of industry. Are we doing enough in the training space to produce a skilled workforce? If not, what can we improve on.
Our second of the series of 5, on the 12 September is all about the Agricultural sector. If you are from this sector and would like to be included in this important discussion, please reach out to myself or one of our team members.
Our recent Economic Outlook for South West held in Bunbury, presented by Aaron Morey from CCIWA was well received by 50 of our members and non-members. I was particularly interested in the business growth plans and how we fared compared to the rest of WA. Improving digital presence was the highest activity planned for the next 12 months. If you would like a copy of this presentation, please let us know.
It is exciting to be part of the progressive nature of our CCI as we move to provide something for all age groups across our membership. Tonight’s sold-out event at Cuprum Distillery for our ‘Young People in Business’ initiative is testament to the popularity of our future leaders wanting to do things differently.
