CEO Update

Dear Members

At the Bunbury Geographe Chamber of Commerce and Industry, our goal is to provide services that align with what you are looking to champion in your business. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who participated in our end-of-year survey. Your input has been instrumental in planning for an impactful year ahead.

The results revealed that networking is your top priority, with 79.49% of participants highlighting networking opportunities as the most valued aspect of their Chamber membership. In response to your feedback, we will be introducing a new format for our networking events this year. We heard your requests for more flexible scheduling, therefore, in addition to our traditional Business After Hours, we will be trialling the introduction of Business Before Hours sessions. This change will create new opportunities to connect and engage with fellow members, accommodating varying schedules.

Mark your calendars for our inaugural Business Before Hours this February: the Election Edition – Meet the Candidates. We’re excited to welcome candidates for the upcoming State Election in March. This event is a fantastic opportunity to meet the candidates and ask questions. Enjoy complimentary coffee, tea, and a light breakfast as you network. We look forward to seeing you there! Members, please RSVP here.

Initiative Enhancements Based on Your Input

Your feedback also highlighted a strong desire for increased training opportunities. With 46.15% of survey participants requesting more workshops, we are pleased to announce that we will continue to offer discounted tickets for business-relevant training workshops, ensuring that you and your team can acquire the skills needed to thrive in a competitive landscape.

Recognising the significance of expert resources, we are committed to providing complimentary Regional Membership to CCIWA, which includes access to valuable resources and discounts, as well as complimentary HR/IR/WHS Advice Helpdesk access for businesses with 30 employees or fewer outside the Perth metro area. This support is essential as you navigate workplace challenges and ensure your legal obligations to your employees are met.

Ongoing Support for Our Members

Our members have also expressed a desire to continue our advocacy opportunities, with 41.03% ranking this as a priority. We are dedicated to fostering strong connections and relationships with local, state, and federal governments and stakeholders to support our members' connections to advocacy opportunities. Additionally, we will continue our ongoing feedback survey to capture issues important to you, which will be communicated to decision-makers.

Moreover, we understand the importance of visibility. That's why we offer opportunities to be featured in our Online Business Directory (a trusted resource for all businesses, members or not, to access), along with affordable room hire options for meetings and events. Take advantage of discounted rates on our conference and training facilities for your next gathering. We will also continue to provide a complimentary office hot desk for members who require a quiet and private space to work for a few hours. Please call us on 9791 2292 to book.
