Multiplex and Perkins Builders have formed an unincorporated Joint Venture to harness their respective strengths of delivering large scale complex construction projects in a regional environment.

The State Government’s $451.1 million redevelopment of Bunbury Regional Hospital will transform the facility into one of the most modern hospitals in regional Australia.

When complete, Bunbury Regional Hospital will be the biggest in country WA, reflecting its role as an important community healthcare hub for the South West region.

The transformation project includes:

» Expanded emergency department

» Expanded maternity, birthing, and neonatal services

» Increased operating theatre capacity

» New clinical equipment, including sterilisation and support facilities

» New emergency access mental health facilities

» WA’s first regional training, education and research centre

» Boosting of digital capability

Early works, including a new carpark, were completed in 2022 with main works expected to commence in early 2025.

The $451.1 million redevelopment will also provide a boost for local industry with opportunities for participation through a registration process already under way.

Early design renders have already been released by the Minister for Health, providing the community a glimpse of what they can expect when the redevelopment is complete.

The Joint Venture intends to provide relevant opportunities to local subcontractors and suppliers during the construction phase of the works.
