The Bunbury Geographe Chamber of Commerce & Industry today announces the retirement of CEO, Julie Broad, marking a productive two years in the Chamber's ongoing efforts to drive economic growth, enhance business collaboration, and advocate for members.
Julie has been a driving force in building and strengthening connections across the business community, with her tenure coming to an end on June 30 2025.
Her leadership and tireless commitment to enhancing the relevance of the Bunbury Geographe CCI have been pivotal in expanding its reach and impact. Under her stewardship, Bunbury Geographe CCI has implemented a range of touchpoints, creating opportunities for businesses of all sizes — and all levels of staff from employees to organisational leaders — to engage, collaborate, and thrive in a dynamic business environment.
Julie has been instrumental in delivering the Executive Board's vision of a relevant Chamber of Commerce & Industry to our business community. This includes implementing the CEO Round Table, Young People in Business, Women in Business, Geographe for Purpose to name a few, which have significantly enhanced our community's engagement and growth.
Julie’s vision for the Bunbury Geographe CCI has been invaluable. “She has helped establish the Chamber as a central hub for business support and growth in the region,” President, Danny Griffin said. “Her dedication to ensuring businesses have the tools, resources, and connections needed to succeed has left an indelible mark on our community, transforming it into a thriving ecosystem of innovation and collaboration.”
As the CEO, Julie spearheaded numerous initiatives to ensure the Chamber’s services and programs remained responsive to the evolving needs of its members. From strategic business networking events to professional development programs, Julie’s focus has always been on fostering a collaborative environment where businesses could share ideas, address challenges and ultimately contribute to the economic vitality of the region, solidifying the Chamber’s role as a cornerstone of regional prosperity.
“Connecting the business community and facilitating positive outcomes for all members has been the highlight of my tenure,” Julie Broad shared. “I have always believed in the power of collaboration and that when businesses work together, we can create an environment of growth and success that benefits not only individual enterprises but the wider economy.”
Julie’s legacy will be defined by her ability to create a strong, unified business community where innovation, opportunity, and support were prioritised. Her leadership has undoubtedly shaped the region’s economy by championing local businesses and advocating for economic productivity that benefit the entire community.
Julie’s retirement marks the beginning of a new chapter for the Bunbury Geographe Chamber of Commerce & Industry. The search for a new CEO has commenced, with a dedicated recruitment committee poised to find the right person for the job. Julie will be involved in the handover process to ensure a seamless transition.
Julie has expressed her confidence in the current Executive Committee, stating, "The current Executive Committee is filled with vibrant, innovative people, and I am confident in their ability to continue providing support and service to businesses." While Julie is retiring, members can rest assured she will remain a supporter of our Chamber and very much a part of our business community.
