Grants for Schools- Creativity for Schools (Residency)

Funding of up to $20,000 for projects involving artists-in-residences in school environments. Applications close on the 27th of March 2025. For more information visit Creativity for Schools

FREE NBN for families with school students- School Student Broadband Initiative (SSBI)

School Student Broadband Initiative (SSBI) has been extended until Friday 30 June 2028 for all new and existing qualifying families.

If there is a school age student at the home and there is no current nbn network connection, that home may qualify for free nbn home internet until 30 June 2028.

To check if a household qualifies and to apply, follow the four steps below:  

  1. Contact the National Referral Centre on 1800 954 610 Monday - Friday, 10am - 6pm (AEDT) or visit anglicarevic.org.au/student-internet    
  2. They’ll ask the applicant some questions to see if they qualify for the SSBI service.  
  3. If the applicant qualifies, they will get a voucher
  4. They can use the voucher to connect through their chosen participating internet provider. They will need to use their voucher before the SSBI cap of 30,000 SSBI service connections is taken

This service is a first in first served format- once the SSBI cap of 30,000 is reached no further nominations will be accepted by participating internet. For more information visit Student Internet Program - Anglicare Victoria

Funding to create new fulfilling work roles for Aboriginal people – Remote Jobs and Economic Development Program (RJEDP)

The RJED program seeks to fund 3,000 new jobs over three years to support job seekers currently participating in or are eligible for Remote Employment Services (RES), the New Jobs Program Trial (NJPT), or the CDP Trialling Pathways to Remote Employment (CDP Trials) to move into employment. There are two streams of funding available

  1. Job Creation – to fund the cost of wages and related entitlements, and
  2. The Community Jobs and Business Fund (CJBF) – to provide funding for equipment, operational costs and infrastructure to directly support bringing jobs created under the Job Creation stream into existence.

Funding for exploration projects for rare earths and critical minerals- Exploration Incentive Scheme (EIS)

The Exploration Incentive Scheme's (EIS) Co-funded Exploration Drilling Program and Series 8 of the Energy Analysis Program is now open. Applications for Round 31 (Drilling), Venture 2 (Geophysics), and Series 8 (Energy Analysis) co-funding programs close at 4pm on Friday, 28 February 2025. 2025 NAIDOC Local Grants Opportunity

The NAIDOC Local Grants provide a co-contribution to the cost of activities and events being held around National NAIDOC Week (6 to 13 July 2025) that celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, achievements and continuing contributions to our country and Australian society.  This grant opportunity provides funding to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and organisations to contribute to the costs of local and regional NAIDOC Week activities across Australia. Non-Indigenous organisations are strongly encouraged to work with their local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community in planning activities / events. Register to receive local (SW) State Government tender updates

South West Local Content Advisor Zoe Bodycoat has commenced a regular e-update detailing current State Government tenders within the SW in order to increase awareness amongst local businesses (small, medium or large) about local opportunities. Currently many State Government tenders make provisions for small or medium businesses to sub-contract to larger businesses if they don’t have capacity to be the sole contractor but would still like to be involved. Funding for schools- PALS (Partnership Acceptance Learning Sharing)

Funding for diverse tourism accommodation options- Unique Tourism Proposals Program (UTAP)

Tourism operators and developers are invited to apply for financial support of up to $100,000 to undertake studies and planning assessments to assist with the development of unique accommodation. The program will help developments get underway and encourage a pipeline of new accommodation options around Western Australia - specifically focusing on unique offerings that are defined by a distinctive design, location or experience.  The funding will support tourism developers and operators to undertake feasibility studies and assessments, including engaging with Traditional Owners and cultural heritage assessments, site surveys, fauna and flora surveys, coastal assessments and master planning. Vouchers available to support small livestock producers

Vouchers of up to $10,000 each will be available to eligible small livestock producers with matching funds to explore local processing options. The program will assist in investigating business models to ensure consistent access to abattoirs for slaughter requirements. Those interested in applying for a voucher will need to attend an information session run by the department, to provide them with information on the process of abattoir set-up and use, and to guide them in completing their application. Funding applications are now open and are on a “first in first served basis”- applications will be received until the 20th June 2025 or until funds have been allocated. WAITOC Loan Program for Aboriginal Tourism Businesses

WAITOC, through our funding partners, is pleased to introduce our small loans program, open to WAITOC Aboriginal Tourism Businesses (ATB) to apply. This round of applications closes 12 February 2025, with successful applicants to be notified by early March 2025. Grants for planning a community trail- Community Trail Planning Grants Program

The Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) has grant funding for projects that ensure trail development across the State is thoroughly thought out and considered. Grants will be awarded to projects that support the progression of trail plan through a logical and consistent framework as well as master planning particular geographical areas at either an LGA, sub-regional or regional level. Applications close on the 14th of February. Up to $25,000 is available for local trail planning projects and up to $50,000 is available for master planning projects. Nominations Open for Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Committee

The WA Government invites passionate and experienced individuals to apply to be a member of the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Committee to provide advice on Aboriginal cultural heritage across the State. There are five vacant positions in July 2025 so individuals with strong experience in Aboriginal culture and heritage are urged to nominate for a place on the Committee. Specialists with experience in anthropology, archaeology and engineering are particularly encouraged to apply, as are those with lived experience of Aboriginal culture and heritage. Skills development for small business- only $20 each

The Small Business Development Corporation (SBDC) provides a range of helpful and very professional courses and micro-credentials for small business and they only cost $20 each to participate. Courses generally only last half a day and they offered online so you don’t need to leave the business. Workshops coming up include:

  • Leadership and Management Essentials- 7th February
  • A Practical Introduction to Cyber Security- 11th February
  • Tracking Website Traffic with Google Analytics- 11th February

Sport and Recreation Event Funding

The Sport and Recreation Events Funding Program provides financial support to assist sport and active recreation organisations in planning, securing and delivering sport and mass participation events in WA. The Program will support state league, national or international level sport and recreation events or large general public participation events in WA. Applications close on the 10th of February 2025. Grants to support touring exhibitions- Visions of Australia

The Visions of Australia Program provides funding to support the development and touring of quality exhibitions around Australia by Australian arts and cultural organisations. Program funding is delivered through two streams:

  • Development: for the costs of planning and producing an exhibition to tour. This includes research and design
  • Touring: for the costs to produce the exhibition and the costs to transport, install and dismantle the exhibition as well as deliver public programs.

Grants for WA food and beverage businesses – Value Add Investment Grants

The Value Add Investment Grants (VAIG) Program supports agriculture, food and beverage businesses to invest in the expansion or relocation of their value adding and manufacturing operations in WA. It also supports the planning of expansion projects through feasibility study grants. The Feasibility stream of the funding round is currently open and provides eligible businesses with funds for planning, feasibility and other de-risking activities which a business plans to use to support an investment decision for qualifying capital expenditure and expansion projects relating to food and beverage manufacturing or other forms of value-add processing. Individual grants of $15,000 to $100,000 are available and recipients must provide a 30% Cash Co-Contribution.Aboriginal business applicants that do not have a 30% cash contribution towards the project but can demonstrate in-kind and/or a lesser cash leverage may be considered on a case-by-case basis.Applications for the Feasibility Stream of funding close on the 309th June 2025. First Nations Heritage Grants
The First Nations Heritage Grants program provides funding to:

  • identify new Indigenous heritage values at existing World Heritage and National Heritage-listed places
  • prepare submissions for the addition of Indigenous heritage values to existing World Heritage and National Heritage listings
  • increase protection of World Heritage and National Heritage-listed places with Indigenous heritage values that may or may not be recognised in the heritage listing for the place
  • improve management of World Heritage and National Heritage-listed places with Indigenous heritage values that may or may not be recognised in the heritage listing for the place.

Natural Resource Management Program’s Community Stewardship Grants

Grants of up to $50,000 are available for short-term activities and up to $450,000 for longer-term projects. The grants recognise the knowledge, volunteer efforts and strong partnerships within local communities to support the sustainable management of WA's natural resources.The program is open to a wide range of groups including community and volunteer organisations, industry bodies, local governments, and schools.
