The Bunbury Geographe Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BGCCI), City of Bunbury and South West Development Commission (SWDC) have announced the Innovative Industries of the Future (IIF) event series will make a welcome return on November 27 2025.
Commencing with a series of lunchtime events and in the lead-up to a major conference in November 2026, the first in the series will look at “building resilient industries: lessons from agritech, AI and circular economies.”
Now in its second year, the IIF program and its accompanying events aim to support the industries in the South West by spotlighting innovations that are shaping the region’s economic future.
Organisers aim to build a dynamic agenda for the main conference informed by contributions from leading industries, investors, local business, and communities. The launch event will see a call out for submissions for presentations, panel discussions, and conversations that can be delved into as part of the wider conference series, or via other digital formats such as webinars and podcasts.
Industry groups, organisations, and private enterprises interested in contributing are encouraged to attend the launch event on November 27 2025.
SWDC CEO Cate Brooks encouraged representatives from a range of industries to attend the conference and hear directly from the line-up of experts and decisionmakers.
“This will be a fantastic opportunity to hear about the latest in circular economy practise and how these learnings are applicable to our industries right here in the South West region. We hope attendees takeaway valuable insights,” Ms Brooks said.
BGCCI CEO Sean McKeown said he expects many of the most insightful discussions to come directly from within the region.
“Many of the best speakers and ideas are expected to come from projects, technologies and innovations currently being developed, especially when you consider the South West’s diverse economy and emerging industries,” Mr McKeown said.
Delivering the keynote is Ben van Delden, founder of Delco AgriFood, and one of Australia’s leading voices in agrifood transformation and circular economy innovation.
Regional Development Minister Stephen Dawson will speak to the importance of innovation and diversification for the future of our South West economy. Leading innovator, researcher and business strategist, Dr Natasha Teakle, will complete the line up with her take on sustainable innovation.
The event will be chaired and emceed by BGCCI President and SWDC Chair Danny Griffin.
The inaugural IIF lunchtime series event will take place in Bunbury on Thursday November 27 2025 at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre (BREC).
