I know we are all saying the same thing, but how fast is this year zooming by? Here we are in early June already. Time aside, the Chamber continues with a focus to connect its business community in innovative ways. The recent ‘Young People in Business’ event at the Rose Hotel indicated the need for young people to connect differently. 40 of our emerging business leaders met to share stories and to engage in conversations that are important to them. It is super exciting to hear from those who attended and how much they got out of the evening.
‘Women in Business’ catch-ups have seen 8-10 women share what inspires them, why they do what they do, and why connecting in a more intimate setting suits them. Their next event is about connecting a member in east Bunbury called the Red Mill Store where the theme is ‘Bubbles n Browse’.
Our ‘Business After Hours’ held in May connected member Judo Bank to Cuprum Distillery. An engaging and energetic event with not only some interesting versions of Gin to sample, but the news of Judo Bank being ranked #1 in the 2023 LinkedIn list of Top Companies in Australia. In addition to this, they have been recognised by the AFR BOSS Best Places to Work in Banking, Superannuation, and financial Services for 2023.
Our team at the Chamber continue to build their own business toolkit ensuring our members can contact us to access a range of services. We want to be known for connecting to opportunities no matter how big or small. Just this month alone we were invited to speak at the Federal Inquiry into improving regional mobile phone infrastructure & coverage in the regions; share an insight on Seven to the UK-Australia Free Trade Agreement to co-hosting the State Budget Lunch attended by the Premier and Minister Punch and two other local members.
