Chamber News

Well that’s another year nearly over, and for the Chamber staff it is that time of the year when we can take the foot off the pedal for a few weeks and take time off to catch up with our extended families and enjoy the lifestyle that living in regional WA provides. It is important to take time out to recharge the batteries, spend time indulging in our hobbies or pastimes and reconnecting with our loved ones.If you get the opportunity to visit our fantastic retail outlets, cafes, restaurants or sample our hospitality offerings during the holidays please recognise the efforts of the business owners and staff who work during this period by being appreciative and understanding. Also, to our essential service people, thank you for working through the holidays and providing the services that we rely on to be available all year round. From the Staff and Management Committee at the BGCCI, I would like to thank our members for their ongoing support and we trust that you have received value from your chamber membership in the last year.To our Gold and Corporate partners, thank you again for your ongoing partnership with the BGCCI, as I have stated many times, we are blessed to have the level of financial support we receive from our Partners. We have seen an increase in attendances at our functions and events this past year and our Business After Hours are booked out well into next financial year, which is very pleasing.I would like to thank our volunteers who have assisted us this year to make good the damage to our bar area, it’s good to be going into the holidays with the floor installed, much of the work has been completed by sacrificing our long weekends to dismantle the old bar area and make ready for the new. A special callout to Wespine and Laminex for their kind donation of materials to complete the floor and to men’s shed for their ongoing assistance. It is also great news that the Halifax and Davenport CCTV system will be operational before the holidays, a big effort by all involved to get the system up and running a month before the original completion date. I have enjoyed Project Managing this initiative and have been impressed by the ability of BTS to deliver this project in a tight timeframe. We look forward to the other improvements in the Halifax area being completed in the next 18 months. Please take care during the holidays, drive safely, look after each other and be generous to those less fortunate. We will see you on the other side of the Holidays in the new decade for what promises to be another interesting year in the Bunbury Geographe Region
