To all of our valued members and the general business community,With the ever-changing environment and circumstances the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has caused nationally, the Bunbury Geographe Chamber of Commerce & Industry want to reassure our members and the business community of Bunbury Geographe, that you will continue to have our support during this difficult time.BGCCI EventsBusiness After Hours which is the highest risk event and does not comply with the social distancing guidelines and will be cancelled until further notice.The BGCCI will still be hosting and facilitating some of our training events as scheduled and the status of these events will be updated on our website. This is subject to change as Pandemic restrictions evolve and hosting businesses make the call on the viability of the training event.We will be taking precautionary measures until otherwise advised to protect our members and participants in these events. These measures include:
- Visible signage of correct hygiene practices at events
- Access to hand sanitiser at and during our events (Subject to availability)
- Self-assessment notices prior to all BGCCI events via direct email to participants
- No handshaking.
- Other measures as required upon advice from the Australian Government Department of Health
We remind all event participants however,  if you are feeling unwell, if you’re coughing or sneezing or if you’ve been in contact with anyone who has or is suspected of having the corona virus, then please refrain from putting other members and business community representatives in an adverse situation. We also remind all participants, should you be in the ‘high risk’ category as defined by the Australian Government Department of Health, please refrain from participating in our events to reduce your risk of contracting the virus.BGCCI Executive Committee & StaffThe BGCCI will be implementing a new policy to ensure the safety of our staff, Executive Committee and visitors to the BGCCI office.Support for Local BusinessThe BGCCI understands that this will be an extremely difficult time for our local businesses, community and region as a whole as the spread of this virus continues. With the recent announcement of the Federal Governments Coronavirus Stimulus Package and commitment by the WA Government to further support stimulus of tourism in regional WA under the #HolidayAtHome and #DoItInWA campaigns, we will be supporting these campaignsWe will continue to promote our local members to ensure the message of “supporting local businesses as local businesses support the local communityâ€Â is clearly heard throughout the region.As members of the BGCCI, your membership includes membership to the Chamber of Commerce & Industry WA, where you can seek expert advice during this time, to manage staff, implement policies and procedures to ensure your business moves through this crisis. The CCIWA have developed a mini site with essential business information click here which will be updated often. If you would like to contact the CCIWA HR Desk please call Allison at the Chamber on 9791 2292 and she will make sure your credentials are accurate so that they will be able to talk to you.We will continue to provide essential business advice via emails, website and social media platforms to assist your businesses through this difficult time and as always, are available to discuss further at the BGCCI office.Mark SeawardChief Executive OfficerBunbury Geographe Chamber of Commerce & Industry
